NFL DRAFT: FIRST THREE ROUNDS
| |
RD 1
TEAM
1
Rams (From TEN) - Jared Goff, QB, Cal - Word on the street is that this is a “done deal”. The California Kid is moving south to LA to lead the Rams to glory… hopefully without Jeff Fisher.
2
Eagles (From CLE) - Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State - Another “done deal” Wentz is already making Sam Bradford cry for his mommy that the Eagles are being meanies.
3
Chargers - Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame - I’m going to trust Chaz’ feeling on this pick. He had Stanley going before Tunsil months ago, but I still think Tunsil is better overall. This is a scheme pick.
4
Cowboys - Ezekiel Elliot, RB, Ohio State - Jerry wins in the battle of logic, sex appeal, and Jerry. Elliott is a really good back, but taking him at four means he needs to be AP level.
5
Jaguars - Jalen Ramsey, CB/S, Florida State - Ramsey will be a god send for the Jaguars secondary. Corner, safety, or whatever he will be a huge impact player.
6
Ravens - Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss - The Ravens sprint to the podium to take the best player in this class. He will anchor the left side of the line for years. There must be something to the number six pick.
7
49ers - DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon - The combination of Buckner and Armstead was great at Oregon. He will be dynamic on the 49ers line.
8
Browns(From PHI) (From MIA) - Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss - I love Treadwell, and I think he’s the perfect power receiver for the Browns. He’s reliable and will fight for the tough catches.
9
Buccaneers - Joey Bosa, DE/Rush, Ohio State - I miss the Bucs having a legit pass rush. Between Ayers and Bosa they should get it done, plus Bosa is a Florida native.
10
Giants - Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama - The Giants linebackers are horrible. Ragland comes in starts day one, is a great leader, and will knock your teeth out.
11
Bears - Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson - I don’t think Lawson is a finished product and I believe that he can be a better 34 standing rusher. He reminds me of Tamba Hali.
12
Saints - Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida - Hargreaves are going to be the best corner in this class, probably. He does everything you want really well besides being tall.
13
Dolphins (from PHI) - Myles Jack, LB, UCLA - I buy the knee concern for Jack, but the Dolphins can’t let a talent like him pass. They have been starved for an impact linebacker for years.
14
Raiders - Vernon Butler, DT, LA Tech - Butler’s stock has skyrocketed recently, and it’s justified. He is the perfect athletic pair to Dan Williams.
15
Titans (From LA) - Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State - Conklin and Lewan are the two guys I want on my side in a bar fight (haha Lewan is a jerk), and to protect my quarterback.
16
Lions - Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama - Reed is the far better Alabama tackle. He’s very athletic so he can push the pocket as well as stop the run.
17
Falcons - Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia - I love Floyd as either OLB in a 43 scheme. He played much better in 2015 when Georgia let him flow. He didn’t have sexy stats, but he made more of an impact.
18
Colts - Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State - I’m sorry Colts fans, but this is too perfect. Decker will play right tackle on your team forever.
19
Bills - Chris Jones, DT, Mississippi State - Jones could be the next Muhammad Wilkerson, and Rex loved Wilkerson. He has the athleticism and strength to make a mess in a 34 scheme.
20
Jets - Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis - The Jets might need to move up to take Lynch, but he’s worth it. His athleticism and arm are tantalizing tools.
21
Washington - Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor - Washington needs to retool their defensive line. Billings would probably play nose for him, regardless he will be a force in opponents’ backfields.
22
Texans - Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame - Love the player, hate the drops. The good news is that Hopkins is a reliable enough receiver to make up for Fuller’s inconsistency.
23
Vikings - Josh Doctson, WR, TCU - Doctson is the perfect receiver if you missed out on DeVante Parker last year. He’s the receiver Vikings fans have been clamouring for since Randy Moss.
24
Bengals - Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor - The Bengals may need to hop up a little to snag Coleman, who appears to be their guy, but he’s well worth it.
25
Steelers - William Jackson III, CB, Houston - This is that one pick that just feels right. Jackson is a speedy zone corner made to fit the Steelers.
26
Seahawks - Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson - All of the Seahawks ends are really old, so Dodd will get into the rotation until they retire. Dodd fits what the Seahawks like in their ends.
27
Packers - Darron Lee, OLB, Ohio State - Lee could be an excellent run and chase linebacker in the Packers scheme like Shazier is Pittsburgh.
28
Chiefs - Robert Nkemdiche, DT, Ole Miss - Andy Reid and the vets on the Chiefs defense can maximize Nkemdiche’s talents. He could end up oddly being a steal.
29
Cardinals - Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State - Ogbah has been linked to the Cardinals a lot. Him and Chandler Jones will be a nightmare.
30
Panthers - Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State - Out with the too expensive and in with the new. Apple will have to work on his zone coverage, but his press man skills are on point.
31
Broncos - Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia - Stewart hasn’t done much in Denver, but Joseph could be an impact safety day one.
