2017 NFL Draft; New Season, New Mock.

NFL DRAFT: FIRST THREE ROUNDS
RD 1	TEAM
1	49ers - Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Chip Kelly would love to have Kaepernick’s mobility, but can’t take that with his accuracy and decision making. Watson is better in all three phases, and the word on the Twitter streets is that he’s a film junkie.
2	Browns (From Eagles) - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU - Fournette has been a man amongst boys since he stepped onto LSU’s campus. Les Miles has already ruined his final year at LSU, so he should bench himself for insurance purposes. He will be perfect for the AFC North, RG3, or maybe even another quarterback...
3	Lions - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M - Ansah and Garrett together? Boy will NFC North offensive coordinators hate two Sundays a year. Garrett has played lights out since he arrived on A&M’s campus. He’s just bigger, stronger, and faster than anyone else in the SEC that plays offensive line.
4	Chargers - JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC - This probably high to take a receiver, but we have nine months until the draft and I like this fit. JuJu reminds me a little of Dez Bryant. He appears more athletic than he is at the college level, but he’s way stronger than you think he is. Allen is always banged up which makes JuJu perfect for the Chargers down the 405.
5	Titans - Jabrill Peppers, S/CB, Michigan - Again, probably high but this is a nice fit. The Titans need someone to come in and be the man in their secondary. Peppers can do it all. He’s played CB, S, LB, and even WR while at Michigan. He may even be the next Deone Bucannon.
6	Bears - Teez Tabor, CB, Florida - I don’t love Tabor as much as other media “analysts” do, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt here. The bears are really in need of a corner that won’t break and will play the physical kind of football they like. Tabor is long and has the ability to bump and run with bigger receivers.
7	Saints - DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame - This is where you lose your minds, but hear me out. I’ve been mocking the Saints a Drew Brees successor for years, but they don’t listen. I think Kizer will have a big enough year to warrant the pick here, but you can mold him under Brees while still getting great QB play from Brees. Don’t do what the Dolphins did and wait until Marino left.
8	Bills - Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State - Rex doesn’t have his Mo Wilkerson or Sheldon Richardson in Buffalo (and if they’re picking this high he might not have a job either), but McDowell could be that kind of player. He’s way more athletic than most Big 10 linemen are and he can stuff the outside runs.
9	Dolphins - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State - If Arian Foster survives the whole year without being injured, and Ajayi survives the whole year without permanently riding the bench the Dolphins might not make this pick. I don’t see that being the case so the get a running back that is healthy and is a blue chip prospect. Cook can run, catch, and pass block very well when he’s called on.
10	Browns (From Eagles) - Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami - I think RG3 will do enough to buy himself more time in Cleveland, but not enough to stop the Browns from selecting a backup plan. Kaaya is another prospect that I’m not in love with, but I can see his upside. Fournette will help the development of any quarterback.
11	Cowboys - Ruben Foster, LB, Alabama - Another Bama linebacker? Yes, and I love everyone of them. Foster may be even more of a smashmouth linebacker than Reggie Ragland. The Cowboys linebackers have been the most broken and sad group they’ve had in a long time.
12	Titans (From Rams) - Desmond King, CB, Iowa - King is probably my favorite corner in this class right now because he’s not flashy (outside of his 8 INTs last season). He’s not going to blow you away with his forty time, vert, or broad jump. He’ll probably be a “disappointment” at the Combine, but he will wow you on the field. Good technique, great body control, and a fierce passion.
13	Falcons - Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State - There will be a lot of tackles talked about in this class, but none of them match up to the 2016 Class yet. Johnson played well this past opening weekend, and he has a lot of upside. Adding a bookend to Jake Matthews is not a bad thought at all.
14	Giants - Jalen Reeves-Maybin, LB, Tennessee - No relation to Aaron Maybin, so he’s already off to a great start! Reeves-Maybin is a tackling machine that flies around the field. Quite honestly the Giants need to take the best linebacker they can get because their current unit is woeful.
15	Eagles (From Vikings) - Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU - He’s not Patrick Peterson or The Honey Badger, but he’s still pretty damn good. Teams will avoid throwing his way this year especially after his Pick 6 vs. Wisconsin. The Eagles traded away the majority of the enjoyable corners this offseason so their secondary will still be bad.
16	Jaguars - Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee - Barnett has Gus Bradley written all over him. I liken him to Michael Bennett. He has a stockier build as compared to most ends, but that adds to his ability to play inside or outside on the defensive line. He has a relentless motor and a desire to ruin opposing quarterbacks.
17	Texans - Jamal Adams, S, LSU - Adams always seems to be around the ball. If it’s on the ground or in the air he’s looking to make a play on it. The pedigree of defensive backs that have graced the NFL with their presence from LSU helps his stock. The Texans safties are always just “meh”. They need someone that will bail out their corners every now and then with a big play.
18	Ravens - Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama - The Ravens select a player from Bama? Allen probably won’t even be available here come next spring, but the Ravens would love to add him. They are getting rushers at the OLB position, but they need an interior presence as well. Allen owned the USC Trojans this past weekend. He made USC never want to come back to Jerry World.
19	Jets - Sidney Jones, CB, Washington - There is some hype surrounding Jones, but I think that’s runoff from Peters in Kansas City. Jones is an extremely solid corner that does whatever you ask of him. He’s not a liability against anyone. His real test in 2016 will be vs. USC and JuJu. The Jets flopped on Milliner, but need to find the heir to Revis Island.
20	Chiefs - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson - The 2015 opener for Mike Williams was scary because of his neck injury, but the 2016 opener was scary for Auburn as they watched the 6’4” monster tear them apart. Maclin is find and all, but the Chiefs could use some more diverse weaponry.
21	Buccaneers - Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame - When all's said and done McGlinchey could be the best tackle in this class. He looked great versus Texas in Notre Dame’s loss. I’m also not a fan of Donovan Smith as Winston’s blindside protector. He’s a good player, but McGlinchey could be better.
22	Raiders - Raekwon McMillan, LB, Ohio State - The Raiders need to continue to make this defense firece. McMillan is a heat seeking missile in both the running and passing game, and he would sure up the Mike for the Raiders.
23	Colts - Da’Shawn Hand, DE, Alabama - Hand isn't’ a sexy player for Bama, but that’s exactly what the Colts need in there defense. I’m still having Vietnam like flashbacks to the AFC Championship game where Blount had his way with the Colts defensive front. Hand is a big man that plays with a big attitude in the run game.
24	Washington - Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia - Who’s excited for Matt Jones? Come on, don’t be shy! No one, really? Nick Chubb lost out last season to a knee injury and then came back to put up a smooth 200 yard rushing game versus a Top 20 opponent in week one. Sign Washington up to make running the football fun again (Trump Sucks! Hillary Sucks Just A Little Bit Less!).
25	Broncos - Adoree Jackson, CB, USC - Talib has been rumored to be on his way out of Denver for a while, but that’s fine because they have Harris and Roby. So take another corner who will take over Roby’s old roll and contribute on special teams in a big way.
26	Bengals - Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA - Peko out, Vanderdoes in. Just swap one old big man for a younger big man. Vanderdoes needs to show a little more than last season if he wants to push his draft stock more, but he’s got all of the tools to be the perfect zero/one shade to Atkins three tech.
27	Packers - Tim Williams, OLB/DE, Alabama - I’m still not sure how I feel about Williams, but I am sure that he’s a more viable option than resigning Peppers or Perry. This is a classic Ted Thompson out with the old and in with the new, which usually works in his favor.
28	Seahawks - Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama - Robinson could be the first tackle to go, or he could go later than this pick. All I know is that the Seahawks are desprate to get some linemen. Robinson is really athletic by Bama linemen standards. He could even play guard if they sign a veteran tackle next offseason.
29	Steelers - Christian McCaffery, RB, Stanford - I’ve been on the “Bail on Bell” train this whole offseason. He is by far my favorite NFL back, but he can’t stay on the field. Every season it’s either a suspension or an injury. While McCaffery might not have the same size he does bring a lot of similar skills that Bell has. He may even be more explosive than Bell.
30	Panthers - Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama - Jackson played lights out last year and he began this season the same way. His transition from corner to safety was the best move he could make. The Panthers safeties are the low point on their roster even though they aren’t bad. Jackson could still come in and be an upgrade day one.
31	Patriots - Pat Elfein, C, Ohio State - The Patriots are trying to get rid of every center they have. They’re honestly hoping Brady can just snap it to himself. Elfein is the rock solid core of the Ohio State offense. He’s smart and wants to take the opposing linemen’s lunch money on every play.
32	Cardinals - Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan - Michael Floyd’s contract is up after this year, and I’m not sure he’s worth paying what the market will want to give him. Davis on the other hand is worth the rookie pay scale for this pick. Davis catches everything, he actually reminds me of Fitz so learning under him could make Fitz’ eventual retirement a seamless transition.
